Come and visit St Michael's
We warmly invite you to come and visit St Michael's for a day as the best way to find out more about the College as a place of ministerial formation. This will give you the opportunity to meet staff and students for both informal and more formal conversation about College life and worship, courses of study, practical preparation for ministry, spiritual and ministerial formation, and other dimensions of life at St Michael's.
Prospective student days
In 2010 the following dates are set aside for prospective student visits:
- 17th March
- 19th May
- 14th July
Not suitable? An alternative can easily be arranged. The best day for a visit is Wednesday, although other days can be accommodated.
The pattern of a visit
We invite you to arrive at 11.00 and stay until after the evening meal at 6pm. Lunch is served from 12.30. In the afternoon, there is usually some in-house training and you can sit-in on this. The main College Eucharist is at 5pm when you can experience the College community at worship. A current student will give you a tour of the College and its facilities and you can meet with various members of staff. The Dean of Residential Training will talk to you about the courses, the Dean of Ministry Development will explain about placements and the administrator of residential training will cover accommodation options.
Overnight accommodation in the College can be arranged and spouses and partners are very welcome to join you on the visit.
Your visit will help you to decide if St Michael's is the place for you. There will be no formal interview, and we are usually in a position to offer you a place to study at St Michael's after your visit if you have been recommended for training for Christian ministry, or subject to such recommendation.
