Ministry Development (IME & CME)

St Michaels has been charged by the Church in Wales to coordinate the continuing development and training of its clergy. This partnership brings together pre- and post-ordination training. The College works closely with the training officers of the six dioceses to plan and deliver in a number of areas:

  • IME (Initial Ministerial Education) - Curates and their Training Incumbents

The Provincial IME Programme has been developed and is delivered by the training officers of the Church in Wales. The courses aim to support the essential development and growth of both curate and training incumbent, and they will be supplemented by diocesan IME events.

  • CME (Continuing Ministerial Education) - Clergy and Readers

A range of programmes designed to support and enhance professional performance at all stages of your journey in ministry.

  • The Annual Reader Conference

Part of the Provincial CME programme for Readers, the conference provides fellowship, mutual support and stimulating input.

  • CME for the Archdeacons

The Archdeacons of the Church in Wales meet regularly to consult, improve their skills and keep up to date with legislation and best practice.
