Curates and their Training Incumbents (IME)

The Provincial IME Programme has been developed and is delivered by the training officers of the Church in Wales. It currently consists of five modules with a further one in development.

Training incumbents and curates are expected to attend these training events as well as the programmes provided within their own dioceses.

Programme Description

The courses aim to support the essential development and growth of both curate and training incumbent, and they will be supplemented by diocesan IME events.

You should be aware that your bishop will not consider you to have ‘served your title' without successful participation in these courses. More importantly, if they are to be helpful (and enjoyable) for all who are taking part, your contribution is vital. If your training or background means you have more to give than to receive, this is part of the process of growth in ministry for you as well.

Course providers will be experienced in ministry and training issues, and the intention is for you to complete the IME years rounded in the training necessary for your vocation, and ready to continue a life-long growth in ministerial skills and service.
