Chaplaincy Studies - Consultancy
The Centre welcomes the opportunity to offer consultancy to chaplains and related organisations, particularly in relation to the following areas:
- Chaplains' education and professional development
- Chaplaincy research projects and approaches to evidence-based practice
- Chaplaincy practice in a multi-faith context
- Chaplains as professionals in secular organisations
- The significance of chaplaincy for public policy relating to religion and spirituality
- Chaplaincy in the UK in dialogue with chaplains in other countries

The Sailors' Society
July 2008
Day delivered to port chaplains from across the world enabling them to reflect on their role as chaplains, in the light of key aspects of chaplaincy in the UK setting.
Further conversations continue about developing a CPD programme for the Society.
The Churches Joint Training Office for Healthcare Chaplaincy
January to July 2008
Review of Joint Training Programme and proposal for new CPD programme, to be accredited at Postgraduate level (and linked with NHS KSF, and pay bands).
Further conversations continue about the development of this programme.
Royal Army Chaplains' Department (RAChD)
June - November 2009 and June - November 2010
The Centre has been commissioned to deliver a day programme to all Army Chaplains (at four divisional conferences) designed to equip them for their role in training soldiers in moral values. The programme focuses on moral education in the context of contemporary morality, the values of the Army and theological reflection.
Free Church and Church of Scotland Royal Navy Chaplains
November 2009
Day programme delivered to all Naval Chaplains designed to equip them for their role in training sailors in moral values. The programme focused on contemporary morality, the values of the Royal Navy and delivering ethics education.
The St Andrew's Trust
November 2009 and November 2010
The Centre has been commissioned to deliver five day programmes to senior representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church, responsible for Prison Chaplaincy in Russia. The programme introduces participants to the UK criminal justice system, to the development of prison chaplaincy in England and Wales, and to chaplains' involvement in rehabilitation and restorative justice. It includes day visits to local prisons.
